Elementary Acts of Service

Each year every class adopts a missionary to support by writing letters and collecting offerings for them. These missionaries can be found all over the world.  Some years donations will include a drive as was done with Paul Hill Ministries to collect backpacks and fill them with school items to give to Katrina Hurricane victims.  Another year our students collected over a thousand pairs of socks for orphans.

In addition to the classroom missionary support, each Christmas the entire elementary school will have a gift-giving focus such as Operation Christmas Child to collect shoeboxes filled with practical items to give to children around the world.  We have also been involved nationally with Feed the Children which helps the poor in our own country.  Locally, we have had classes help with Elf Louise, sing in nursing homes, and jog for hurricane relief.

Serving others is an essential part of our students’ spiritual and character development.  These acts of service open our students’ eyes to the needs of others around the word. This is further encouraged with chapel speakers from organizations such as Compassion International and World Vision in which opportunities are extended to families to be a part of those programs.  We want our students to understand how they can be the feet and hands of Jesus.
