SACS has a long history of actively supporting missions
and continues this tradition at all grade levels. Beginning
in preschool, students hear adventure stories about Christian missionary
work.
Elementary school classes adopt their own missionaries to write,
encourage and support. Students in middle school serve with
local organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, Come-and- Read,
Elf
Louise, Hispanic Urban Renewal Ministries, Child Evangelism
Workshops, and many others. In Bible classes, specific missionaries
at home
and abroad are faithfully supported with finances and prayer.
High school students have traveled on mission trips
to foreign lands, including such places as the Dominican Republic,
Haiti, Russia, Mexico,
and Africa.
SACS student missionaries raise their own support
to participate in these evangelistic efforts.
Missionary opportunities in our own city abound.
Throughout the year, our students may provide their services
to places like the
SAMM shelter, Goodwill, the AIDS Foundation, Habitat for Humanity,
or the Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Service in the name of Jesus is
at the heart of SACS reason for being. Mission work provide students
the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in today's world.
