1. Both parents are to be born-again believers who regularly attend a Bible-believing, local congregation. However, under certain circumstances, a family may be admitted with one parent being born-again. If a family is a single-parent family, the testimony of the parent with whom the student resides will be sufficient for enrollment. It is the philosophy of SACS that we exist to be an extension of the Christian home and local church therefore a family's spiritual heart must be a deciding factor in the admissions process.
2. Students under suspension or expulsion from another school are not eligible to enroll at SACS. It is the desire of SACS that the student in question return to his former school as soon as possible and place himself under the proper authority of his school; the student may then apply to SACS stemming from a desire to receive a Christian education. In addition, students with failing grades or very poor grades may not enroll at SACS until such grades have improved as determined by the administrator and admissions office.
3. SACS realizes that some students may have mixed feelings about changing schools. The administrator will evaluate such uncertainty; however, no student will be admitted who does not want to attend.
4. It is our strong desire that each student be a born-again believer. However, we also realize that not all students can make such an important personal decision prior to entering a particular grade. The indispensable ingredient is that parents love the Lord and are working with the school and church to lead the student to salvation through Jesus Christ. A new student applying for grades 9 - 12 will be required to share their testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as his/her Savior.
5. A letter of reference will be required from a pastor of each student applying to SACS. In lieu of the pastor's reference one from an assistant pastor, youth pastor, Elder or Deacon Board member, or Sunday school teacher who knows you and your student may substitute. If you have just moved into town and have not established a church home, then a pastoral reference from your previous church will be acceptable. The reference is to be mailed, faxed, emailed or hand delivered to the Central/Admissions Office in a sealed envelope.
6. There are specific standards of behavior expected of families and students at SACS. We expect all families and students to live a life of moderation consistent with God's word. Furthermore, families will be encouraged to grow spiritually through their church, school-sponsored seminars, and their own personal family devotions.
7. SACS adheres to the Texas Education Agency guidelines in regards to the entrance age for Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten. A student must be at least four (4) years of age on September 1st of the school year to be considered for entrance into the Pre-Kinder program and at least five (5) years of age on September 1st of the school year for Kindergarten. (TEA §29.151 and §29.153)
