Our "hands on" child centered curriculum
is designed to provide an enriched preschool experience for
the child who is 4 to 5 years old. We are dedicated to teaching a
developmentally
appropriate curriculum from a biblical perspective emphasizing
that all truth is God's truth. Our students enjoy a half day of developmentally
appropriate skills with social interaction, creative play,
motor
skills, daily Bible time, art, Spanish, cooking, story time,
and music.Learning will also be facilitated through games, stories,
dramatic play, and hands-on activities.
A chosen theme becomes
central to all the activities during the day. For example,
a theme
related
song or action rhyme may be used to introduce concepts
included in a circle time discussion. Theme teaching equips children
with concepts,
generalizations, and techniques that may be applied to
other
learning experiences. Bible, Language, Math, History, Science,
and Motor Skills
will be integrated around the following curriculum themes:
- : Our Names, Our Bodies/Health, my Five Senses, Feelings
- : We Share/Manners, We're Kind, Friendship,
Our Families, We're All Different
- : Nutrition, Safety/Community Helpers, Transportation
- : Animals at Home, Farm Animals, Zoo
Animals, Insects/Bugs
- : Seeds & Plants, Weather, Water/Fish/Ocean,
Sun/Moon/Stars/Planets
- : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Patriotism:Freedom/God/Nation/State
Readiness skills such as listening,
visual discrimination,
letter/sounds, numbers and printing will be
introduced and practiced in a stimulating
learning environment. It is our goal that each child should
experience joy in learning.
Bible study is an important part of the learning
activities of each day. During Bible time, the children share
verses, songs, and prayers. They are taught to love God, Jesus,
and God's
Holy Word. There will be a distinct emphasis on character
development as the principles of God's Word are applied to
the child's daily
living experiences.
